4. The Church as a Community of Hope

This session will offer biblical encouragement and practical guidance for honoring aging parents, navigating difficult decisions with wisdom, and serving faithfully without losing hope.

Caring for Aging Parents with Wisdom and Grace - Part 1

Understanding the People You Shepherd

As more people seek help for mental health concerns, church leaders need biblical wisdom to respond with both truth and compassion. This session will equip ministry leaders to listen well, ask thoughtful questions, avoid simplistic answers, recognize when additional help is needed, and faithfully point people to the hope found in Christ.

Beyond the Label: Understanding and Shepherding Your Child

Mental- health labels may describe a child's struggles, but they should not become the child's identity or determine the parents' response. This session will help parents look beyond labels to understand their child as a whole person - body and soul - and shepherd them with biblical wisdom, compassion, and hope.

Medication and Mental Health: A Biblical Framework

Questions about medication and mental health are becoming increasingly common among Christians, yet many struggle to think about them biblically. This session will provide a balanced, Scripture - centered framework for understanding the role of medication, the relationship between the body and the soul, and how believers can pursue wisdom, hope, and faithful care in difficult circumstances.

Breakout 1

Choices

Caring for aging parents is often a long journey that requires wisdom, endurance, and Christlike love. Building on part 1, this session will address the ongoing challenges of loneliness, fear, depression, dementia, caregiver fatigue, and honoring aging parents while encouraging caregivers to persevere with hope and confidence in God's sustaining grace.

Caring for Aging Parents with Wisdom and Grace - Part 2

Walking with Those Who are Hurting - Bearing One Another's Burdens without Carrying Them Alone

Every believer is called to care for those who are hurting, yet many feel unsure of what to say or how to help. This session will equip ordinary Christians to listen well, offer biblical encouragement, and faithfully bear one another's burdens while entrusting lasting change to the Lord.

Children and teenagers often face fear, anxiety, discouragement, and other mental health challenges that can leave parents feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. This session will help parents understand how children process life's struggles and equip them to shepherd their hearts with biblical wisdom, offering both truth and hope rather than merely managing behavior.

Helping Your Children Through Mental Health Struggles

When Anxiety Feels Like Your Constant Companion

CHOICES

Because we are both body and soul, physical weakness, illness, hormones, medications, and fatigue can profoundly influence how we think, feel, and respond. This session will help participants understand the body's influence on the inner man without treating physical conditions as the ultimate cause of our thinking and responses. It will offer a biblical framework for responding with wisdom, compassion, and hope.

When the Body Affects the Soul

Equipping Your Church to Care for Souls

Healthy churches are places where biblical truth, genuine relationships, and compassionate care work together to help people grow in Christ. Designed primarily for pastors, elders, ministry leaders, counselors, and seminary students, this session will explore how churches can cultivate a culture of wise, compassionate, and biblically faithful soul care that equips every believer to minister to one another.

Raising Wise Children in a Digital World - How Technology Shapes the Mind, Relationships, and Spiritual Growth

From smartphones and social media to gaming and artificial intelligence, technology is shaping the way children think, relate, and grow. This session will equip parents to evaluate digital influences through a biblical lens and cultivate habits that encourage wisdom, healthy relationships, and spiritual maturity in the next generation.

Depression can affect believers in every season of life, including after childbirth. Drawing from medical experience and biblical truth, this session will help participants better understand depression and postpartum depression, respond compassionately to those who suffer, and discover how the hope of the gospel strengthens weary hearts.
